Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Maranello-based manufacturer with a new limited special series. The queen of roadsters: LaFerrari Aperta.
Launched to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Maranello marque’s foundation, the LaFerrari Aperta perfectly encapsulated the core values that make Ferrari unique: excellence, performance, technology, style, exclusivity. As the Prancing Horse’s latest limited-edition special series model, the LaFerrari was the spider version of the acclaimed LaFerrari supercar and designed specifically for its most passionate clients.
The intensive development work carried out by Ferrari’s technicians targeted the LaFerrari Aperta’s chassis and aerodynamics. The result was a roadster with the same drag coefficient, torsional rigidity and beam stiffness figures as the coupé. The only significant departure from the LaFerrari was the door rotation system: when fully open, the Aperta’s doors are at slightly different angle than in the coupé version.
As with the LaFerrari, the Aperta’s powertrain combined an 800 cv V12 ICE with a 120 kW (163 cv) electric motor to unleash a total power output in excess of 960 cv. The KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System), tested on the track and evolved for use in a road car, guaranteed maximum integration between the V12 and the electric motor, seamlessly blending the advantages of both.
The only Ferrari supercar in a spider version. 209 uncompromising open-top models.
