One hour before the start of the Sebring 1000 Miglia, the No 51 Ferrari 499P with Alessandro Pier Guidi at the wheel, which started fourth, occupies sixth position, while the other Hypercar of the Prancing Horse, the No. 50 driven by Antonio Fuoco, who had delivered the best time in qualifying, is eighth. The famous American race started under clear skies and temperatures above 25°C.
Both Ferraris made a short pit stop to refuel as the Safety Car came in ten minutes from the green flag, while Fuoco and Pier Guidi were first and fourth respectively. The yellow flag period, which lasted 23 minutes, followed the crash of the No 83 488 GTE of Richard Mille AF Corse entered in the LMGTE Am class. The Argentine Luís Pérez Companc had lost control of the car in turn 1 and ended up in the external barriers, thankfully without injury, but prematurely concluding the test of the crew completed by Lilou Wadoux and Alessio Rovera.
At the restart, the 499P of Fuoco and that of Pier Guidi, then ninth and tenth, were once again the protagonists of the challenge in the top class. The 499P number 50, just after the first hour of the race, had to serve a Drive Through due to an overtake carried out during the Safety Car, losing two positions.
