The Lusail International Circuit hosted the two-day official Prologue of the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will kick off at the Qatari circuit on Saturday 2 March. Following the postponement of the sessions initially scheduled for the weekend, the cars participating in the world championship tackled the 5.3km track. Among them were the three 499Ps competing in the Hypercar class.
On the second and final day of the Prologue, the Ferraris on the track continued comparing set-up solutions and fuel loads, aiming to optimise the vehicle dynamics for the upcoming race. In the third session, the number 51 was the quickest of the 499Ps, securing eighth place after 78 laps. Meanwhile, the number 50 closed in 16th position, completing the same number of laps as its sister car. Car number 83 of AF Corse completed 80 laps, the best of which secured ninth place overall
In the fourth and final unofficial outing, the Maranello cars improved upon their morning times and moved up the standings. They also simulated some qualifying laps during this session. The quickest of the Ferraris was the AF Corse, number 83, in third with a time of 1:40.749 set on lap 72 out of 75, followed a few tenths behind by the number 51, which turned in the fourth fastest time of 1:40.926 and the number 50 in fifth with 1:40.968. Pier Guidi-Calado-Giovinazzi completed 84 laps, while Fuoco-Molina-Nielsen did 77.
