    David Messina, born in 1974, has been working in the American comic book market since 2005, primarily for IDW Publishing.

    He has drawn four miniseries based on Joss Whedon's TV series Angel, including "The Curse," "Old Friends," "Auld Lang Syne", "Smile Time", and "Only Human", as well as several one-shots. For the same publisher, he has also created numerous miniseries, especially on Star Trek, including a trilogy related to the 2009 film.

    Messina also created the character Eddie Hope with writers Bill Willingham and Bill Williams. For IMAGE Comics, he collaborated with Joe Casey on the creation of the maxi-series "The Bounce". For DC Comics, he worked on a run of Catwoman with Genevieve Valentine, and contributed to Midnighter and Action Comics #50.

    In 2020, he illustrated the miniseries Ironheart 2020, written by Vita Ayala and Danny Lore, and is currently working on "Trial Of Magneto" and "Star Wars: War Of The Bounty Hunters" for Marvel, as well as a new creator-owned project for Aftershock.

    Recently, he created illustrations for the video game FIFA 2023 and the cover of the album "Maestrale" by Il Muro Del Canto. Additionally, since 2002, he has been teaching a comic book course with a specialization in American comics at the International School of Comics in Rome.
