Thursday in Sebring opened with the third free practice session which took place on a morning characterized by clear skies and temperatures just above 22°C. The Ferrari 499Ps completed a total of 47 laps, finishing third and seventh with the number 50 and number 51 Hypercars respectively, at the end of a session marked by two Full Course Yellows and a red flag in the closing minutes.
The crew made up of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen on the No. 50 499P completed 23 laps recording a best lap time of 1'46''777, with a gap of 0''994 from the leaders on the No. 7 Toyota which had an accident in turn 17 which led to the early conclusion of the session. The best time for Ferrari was set by the Italian driver, Fuoco, who started in the first stint before handing the wheel to Molina and his Danish companion in order.
After 44 minutes under the green flag, the third free practice session saw the No. 51 499P finish in seventh position with Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi, thanks to a time of 1'48''425 obtained in first driving session for the Piedmontese driver, Pier Guidi, three times world champion in the LMGTE Pro class, who took turns at the wheel with Giovinazzi.
Qualifying for the Hypercar class is scheduled for this afternoon on the Florida track, starting at 19.20, which will establish the starting grid for the 1000 Miles of Sebring, which will start on Friday 17 March at 12 (all times are local).
