Since the 2024 season, Ye has been an official Ferrari driver and competed in the top class of the FIA World Endurance Championship with the 499P number 83, entered by the AF Corse client team.
After his experience with single-seaters, since 2021 Ye has competed with prototypes in various international endurance series. In 2023, he debuted in the top class of the FIA WEC in an LMDh prototype, competing in five world championship races. The young man’s career includes three appearances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Four titles in different categories stand out in Ye’s list of victories. The driver became the French Formula 4 champion in 2016, winning 14 of the 23 races on the calendar, and did likewise in the Euroformula Open in 2020 with 11 seasonal triumphs.
In 2021, Ye – the first Chinese driver to join the group of official Maranello brand drivers – ended the year with two championships’ wins, both at the wheel of LMP2-class prototypes, in the European Le Mans Series and the Asian Le Mans Series: Yifei was the first driver to win both championships in a year.
As official Prancing Horse driver, Yifei Ye competed in the top class of the FIA WEC for the 2024 season in AF Corse’s number 83 Ferrari 499P. The Chinese driver shared the world championship experience with Robert Shwartzman, another official Ferrari driver making his World Endurance Championship debut. The crew is completed by AF Corse driver Robert Kubica.
In 2024, in his debut season as a Ferrari official driver, Ye celebrated an outright victory at COTA in the sixth round of the FIA WEC, driving the 499P in Giallo Modena livery, finishing the season in third position in the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams.
The Chinese driver also debuted the 296 GT3 at Monza in GT WC Europe and competed at Macau in the FIA GT World Cup.
