Imola awaits the Finali Mondiali Ferrari 2024

    Imola 02 ottobre 2024

During a presentation at the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, the programme for the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, scheduled from 15 to 21 October 2024, was revealed. For the third time in history, following the 2022 and 1998 editions, the Imola circuit will host the event, with Sunday, 20 October set to feature a new initiative. The Ferrari Show will connect the city centre of Imola with the circuit, featuring a parade for local residents and tifosi, who will have the chance to admire a variety of cars in person, including the Ferrari 499P from the FIA WEC.

On the track. At Imola, the final act of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli will take place, featuring drivers and teams from the Europe and North America international series from Wednesday, 16 October to Friday, 18 October, with over 100 cars expected on the track. The most anticipated moment will arrive with the crowning of the world champions in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli, following a format that incorporates the new elements introduced in 2023: qualifying and Superpole on Saturday, 19 October, which will set the starting grid for the race, set to begin on the morning of Sunday, 20.

Throughout the event, the 4.909-kilometre Imola circuit will come alive with multiple sessions on the track featuring the F1 Clienti, Sport Prototipi Clienti, XX Programme (with 78 cars already confirmed), and Club Competizioni GT (over 20 cars).

For enthusiasts, this will be a unique opportunity to see in action – in non-competitive sessions – the single-seaters that have shaped the history of F1, from the 1970s to the hybrid power units of the third millennium; the 499P Modificata (the model that inaugurated the new Sport Prototipi Clienti programme in 2024); non-road-homologated laboratory cars that bring Maranello’s cutting-edge technology to life; and many cars that have competed in prestigious GT series over the past thirty years.

Parade. The Ferrari Show will depart from the historic centre of Imola, arriving on the track at 12.50 p.m., where a variety of cars will gather on the circuit for the public to enjoy.

The parade will include the 499P, which competes in the top class of the World Endurance Championship (winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2024, with Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen, and in 2023, with Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi), as well as the 296 GT3, which celebrated its historic victory at the 24 Hours at Daytona this year with Pier Guidi, Calado, Davide Rigon, and Daniel Serra.

The two most significant endurance racing cars, along with the drivers who contributed to these remarkable victories, will participate in the Ferrari Show, alongside the 296 Challenge, which features in the Ferrari Challenge, and dozens of non-competitive cars from programmes reserved for clients. The event will culminate just after 2 p.m. on the main straight with the performance of the national anthem and a stunning Air Show.

In the spotlight. The entire Imola paddock will feature an exhibition of dozens of racing cars that have achieved extraordinary results both past and present, as well as the range of Ferrari road cars.

Imola. Inaugurated in 1953, the circuit is set to host the Finali Mondiali Ferrari for the third time. The first instance was in 1998, when the Ferrari Challenge was contested with the Ferrari F355 Challenge, the second model to compete in the history of the single-marque series, which celebrates its 32nd edition this year. In 2022, Imola was the stage for the global unveiling of the Ferrari 499P, which would make its race debut in March 2023, bringing the Prancing Horse back to the top class of endurance racing after a fifty-year absence.

The programme. The two races of the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli Europe and North America will run on Thursday 17 and Friday 18; Saturday, 19 October, will feature the qualifying and Superpole for the Finali Mondiali, scheduled for Sunday, 20, before the Ferrari Show.

Spectators can access the grandstands for free on Thursday, 17 October, and Friday, 18 October (grandstands: Tribune Start 1, 2, and 3), while on Saturday, 19 October, and Sunday, 20 October, tickets will be required for each day, or a two-day mini-pass can be purchased (grandstands: Tribuna Start 3, Tribuna Tosa, Tribune Acque Minerali 1/2/3, and Tribuna Rivazza 1); admission is free for children up to 12 years of age; the paddock area will not be open to the public.

All the information needed to plan the experience, including how to purchase tickets online or in Imola, and the detailed programme for the event, is available on the website finalimondiali.ferrari.com.

Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance and Corse Clienti: “Returning to Imola for the Finali Mondiali Ferrari two years after the last time, when in 2022 we introduced the 499P to the world, which would make its debut in the FIA WEC the following March, is a source of great satisfaction and pride. In the past two years, with our Hypercar, we have achieved three world victories, including two historic wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans – results that prove the success of our flagship endurance racing project.

The Finali Mondiali is traditionally a special event that, alongside hosting the final rounds of the international Ferrari Challenge series, sees many drivers and teams competing on the track for world championship titles. Our single-marque series is continually growing, as demonstrated by the number of entries in this 32nd edition and the launch, from 2025, of the new Ferrari Challenge Australasia regional series.

At Imola, the event is completed by dozens of cars driven by clients as part of non-competitive programmes, giving the public the chance to admire in person the single-seaters, prototypes, and GT cars that have contributed to Ferrari’s legendary status worldwide.

There is also great anticipation for the Ferrari Show, which this year features a parade connecting the city centre with the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari: This tribute has been organised for local residents and tifosi, who can access the circuit from Thursday to Sunday to celebrate our on-track racing successes with us.”

Alessio Rovera, official Ferrari driver: “Imola is a special circuit for every driver, especially for an Italian behind the wheel of a Ferrari, representing the Maranello manufacturer in competition. In my case, the bond with this circuit is particularly strong as I secured my first victory here in 2020 with a Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020, racing for AF Corse alongside Antonio Fuoco and Giorgio Roda, during a season that culminated in the title of the Italian GT Endurance Championship: truly exhilarating moments that hold a special place in my memory.

There are many reasons, therefore, why it is a pleasure to return to Imola, especially in the unique setting of the Finali Mondiali Ferrari, an extraordinary celebration that allows us to meet many tifosi and share unforgettable emotions with them.

Two years ago, the 296 GT3 covered its first kilometres on this track, during the Ferrari Show, before making its race debut in January 2023. I remember that moment clearly and I am proud to be one of the official drivers most involved in international competitions with this model.”
