In 2016 he competed in the IMSA SSC championship on the 488 GTE of team Risi Competizione paired with the Finnish. On the same car Giancarlo was second at the Le Mans 24 Hours race, but he also took part to alongside with the participation to some races of the Blancpain Endurance Cup. In 2017 Fisichella repeated the same program, taking five podiums in the IMSA and finishing second at the Spa 24 Hours. In 2018 he took part in the FIA WEC Super Season driving the Spirit of Race Ferrari in GTE-Am class with Francesco Castellacci and Thomas Flohr scoring the second place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. He was also involved in the title battle until the very last race of the Italian GT on the Scuderia Baldini’s Ferrari 488 GT3. In 2019 Fisichella will continue to compete in the FIA WEC with Spirit of Race and in the Italian GT Endurance series with Scuderia Baldini. In 2020, in addition to driving in the FIA WEC for AF Corse, Fisichella raced in the GT World Challenge Europe with Sky Tempesta Racing, winning the Magny Cours round and finishing on the podium in the 24 Hours of Spa.
In 2021, Fisichella continued with AF Corse in the endurance world championship, again alongside Thomas Flohr and Francesco Castellacci. In 2022, the Rome-based driver will join the Iron Lynx team in the FIA WEC with Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cressoni.
After the last few seasons with AF Corse, Giancarlo Fisichella competed in the World Endurance Championship for Iron Lynx. The experienced Italian driver achieved excellent placings, almost climbing the podium several times. Fisichella also contested an Italian GT Championship race with Rubens Barrichello, winning at Vallelunga.
In 2023 the driver from Rome celebrated the title in the Italian GT Endurance Championship together with Tommaso Mosca, at Monza, with one round still to go before the end of the season. The pairing were the star performers of the year, sharing Scuderia Baldini’s 488 GT3 Evo 2020 and achieving two wins in the opening rounds in Pergusa and Mugello, third place at Monza and a runner-up spot in the final showdown held in Vallelunga.
