The Sakhir circuit hosted qualifying and Hyperpole for the 8 Hours of Bahrain, the final round of the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. Courtesy of the times set by Antonio Giovinazzi and Antonio Fuoco, official Ferrari - AF Corse team's 499Ps will start from third and fifth positions, with car numbers 51 and 50, respectively.

Ferrari number 83, entered by AF Corse and qualified by Yifei Ye, will line up in 12th.

The green flag for round eight of the endurance championship will wave on Saturday, 2 November, at 2 p.m. local time.

Qualifying. Held at dusk, in dry track conditions, with air and track temperatures of 28°C and 32°C, respectively, the session saw the two Italian drivers fitting medium tyres in their quest to set the fastest time.

On the fourth of his five completed laps, Giovinazzi—sharing the number 51 car with Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado—clocked 1’47”531, securing second position, just 33 thousandths behind Toyota number 7. Fuoco, partnered with Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen in car number 50, placed eighth with a best time of 1’48”014.

AF Corse’s number 83, qualified by official driver Yifei Ye, posted a lap time of 1’48”282, putting it outside the top ten and thus unable to compete in the Hyperpole. With Ye, Robert Shwartzman, and Robert Kubica driving in the race, this car will start from 12th.

Hyperpole. Under floodlights, with temperatures at the Sakhir track dropping to 27°C and 30°C, the Hyperpole session for the top ten cars concluded with an excellent third place for Giovinazzi, who set a best lap of 1’47”080, just 0.366 seconds behind the pole-sitting Toyota number 8. Fuoco secured fifth position in the 499P number 50 with a time of 1’47”527.
