Ferrari 499Ps third and fourth in Free Practice 2 in the Algarve

The second free practice session held at Portimão ended with the no. 50 Ferrari 499P in third position followed by the no. 51 Hypercar. The mid-afternoon session was staged beneath the resplendent Algarve sun with air temperatures over 20°C.

The fastest of the two Ferrari - AF Corse-entered Hypercars, turned out to be the one courtesy of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, registering a fastest lap of 1'33'301 (with a 1'146 gap from the leading no. 7 Toyota), with Miguel Molina at the wheel. By the end of the one hour thirty minute session, the no.50 499P – which set the fourth fastest time in the morning’s first free practice session – had completed 49 laps.

The first day on track at the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve ended with fourth place for the no. 51 Ferrari crewed by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi, whose best marker of 1'33''431 was produced by James Calado: the British driver spent longer in the cockpit having completed 22 of the total 52 laps.

The programme at the Portuguese track continues on Saturday with Free Practice 3 from 11.15 a.m. followed by the qualifying round reserved for the top class, from 4.20 p.m., which will determine the starting grid for the 6 Hours, due to get underway on Sunday at 12 p.m.(all times are local).
